We have decades of utility telecommunications strategy, design, and implementation experience. Particular areas of expertise include PLTE, Field Area Networks (FANs), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and other wireless technologies. We can also help clients evaluate other options such as PVNO for their networks.
RF Spectrum Assessment, Valuation, and Purchasing
KN Utility Telecom Consulting works with utilities to help them with RF spectrum purchases. This includes assessing spectrum availability, valuation of the spectrum, and working with the utility for spectrum purchases.
Utility Telecom Expertise to Vendors
With over 30 years as a telecommunications engineer, 25 of those years in an electric utility, including 10 years serving on the board of Utilities Technology Council, Kathy brings a breadth and depth of utility telecommunications knowledge.
Advocacy
Kathy combines a long telecommunications technical career with advocacy experience at the federal level to help clients navigate advocating for issues specific to utility telecommunications.
RFP/RFI Writing, Evaluation, and Vendor Selection
KN Utility Telecom Consulting works with clients and their business stakeholders to develop RFPs, scoring matrices, vendor evaluations, and to help the client team with vendor selection.
